“I’m here”

July 20, 2010 § 2 Comments

The bond between a father and son is a very endearing one.  From his first steps, a son wants nothing more than to fill his father’s shoes….literally clopping around in them whenever the opportunity presents itself.  When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, a little boy will proudly declare that he wants to be a superhero just like his daddy.  Yet there is something in that very first meeting between father and newborn son that surpasses all other moments — an instinctive and immediate trust that is overwhelmingly visible with just the simple grasp of one small hand.  It is as if to say “I’m here, Daddy.  I’m here, and this is where I’m going to stay.”
