Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

July 26, 2010 § Leave a comment

Today’s “To Do” List includes editing a recent photo session of an adorable young family, with two strapping boys and a fair maiden squeezed in between them.  Not only was the session itself a (busy) delight, but fortunately the fun continues into the editing room — moments, expressions, and simple silliness that may have been brief in passing are now forever recorded in their history…these are the images which leap out at me from my computer screen.  Sorting through the wide array of giggles, pouts and heart tuggingly big puppy brown eyes (seriously– how is a mom supposed to resist those??) I couldn’t help but think of the nursery school rhyme “What are little girls/boys made of?”  This, of course, made me chuckle — for while we may not have had any actual snakes, snails, or puppy dog tails on set, we had plenty of sugar and spice and everything nice.

So, what are little boys made of?

Nope, none of those sneaky snails here.

Hmm…..I never did check their pockets though….

A little sugar…..a little spice….

A sweet and cherished moment that is oh so nice.

Thanks again to this wonderful family who shared their morning with me.  Whatever it is that these little ones are made of, it sure is spectacular!
