The Whole of My Heart.

If you were to take a photo of my heart, it would look something like this.

One chamber would have red hair, bright blue eyes, and a fuzzy yellow duck that is starting to show the wear from all the love it’s been given.

One chamber would have soft ears, sweet eyes, and probably wearing a superhero costume.

One chamber would have freckles, compassion for all, and a giggle you can’t miss.

The fourth chamber would be a fuzzy brindle, a devoted friend, and have the uncontrollable urge to roll in anything that had any odor whatsoever.

I would have a fifth chamber though.  This chamber would be strong — the chamber that the rest of my heart relied upon.  It would be at the very center of everything — my best friend, my one love, my other half.  It would be so much a part of me, that I couldn’t be sure where it ended and where I began.

No longer flesh and blood, but something even more vital than that.

This is my heart now.
