Hooked on Science {book of the week}

October 7, 2010 § Leave a comment

Do you remember Bill Nye, the Science Guy?  Totally awesome dude that brought to life the concepts we were learning in textbooks, with no small amount of flair :)  Well now it’s time for you to bust out your own white lab coat — our Fun on Friday is The Usborne Big Book of Experiments published by Scholastic.

Amazon.com: The Usborne Big Book of Experiments Big Book of Experiences 9780746022887: Alastair Smith, Howard Allman: Books.

From chemistry in the kitchen to how a garden grows, this instructional book will provide you with tons of scientific ideas.  (Forty-two, to be exact.)  The best part is that many of these experiments can be done at a basic enough level so that students as young as PreK can benefit from hands-on learning.  It’s never too early to prep for that Harvard education, right?  ;o)

I’ve decided that I like including an Amazon link to be used as a reference, should you decide to look into any of these books further :)  Amazon has always seemed to be very competitive with their pricing; however, if anyone has a suggestion of another/better book supplier by all means please share!  :)

So, Happy Reading!  (Now go get your geek on!)
