Hello incredibly busy week.
My husband turns thirty this week. Gulp. Being the brave soul that I am, I’m appreciative of the fact that he is biting that bullet before I am. Although I have to admit, thirty seemed so much older ten years ago than it does now…so maybe, just maybe, it won’t be as bad as we’ve all feared. For example, when Jake woke up that morning his hair hadn’t turn white with age overnight, his teeth were all still fully intact, and those Scooter Store commercials are still as irrelevant as they were the day before. So far so good, I’d say. Regardless of that, I think I’ll still hold onto my twenty-something status with a tight grip though, thank you very much. (All kidding aside — Happy Birthday Jacob! You’ll always be a 20 year old heart throb to me :)
This week also signifies a considerable reduction in the turkey population. Double gulp. (Hmm… maybe it is better turning thirty ;o) Last year, in honor of the holiday, I created the sure-to-be-a-long-running tradition of Turkeys On A String, where as indicated by the oh so clever name, each member of our family makes a turkey, which we then prominently display on a string. Our materials of choice were construction paper, markers, and Elmer’s Glue (it was last minute inspiration,) but this little project brought all of us to the table together to share giggles and creativity, which truly was something to be thankful for. Here is a quick sample of two that were made last year (the others have gone MIA — my guess is to somewhere in one of Jade’s “collections”) ….
…and I can’t wait to see what we all come up with this time around!
In bigger news ….my gallery wrap arrived. I have wanted this beauty for a loooong time, and now a 3 ft x 3 ft display of family beauty is gracing my dining room. It will be going on the wall soon …. (tonight if I have anything to do with it) … but I couldn’t resist sharing a quick pic!
My favorite faces, in 1 foot squares. I can’t wait to make another one!
Happy Thanksgiving! May you have a wonderful holiday with all of your favorite faces as well :)
P.S. Due to the holiday weekend, there will not be a Fun on Friday post this week. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving — see you back here after the weekend!
