A Retelling

They say that a single photo is worth a thousand words.

If that is true, which I believe it is, then imagine how many words I would need to satiate a thousand pictures.  Ready?

Welcome to the retelling of our Christmas 2010 story.  (Don’t panic … I don’t think there’s a thousand photos. I’m fairly certain there’s not. I wouldn’t do that to you :)

We spent time with Grandma, which is always nice (and the coffee was delicious.) Thanks Mom!

We put up the tree….and then waited.

Until finally, finally it was Christmas Eve and the wild rompus could commence.

However, not before taking the all important cousins-in-holiday-garb portrait.  (A couple of the youngest cracked under the pressure … and no, I have no idea why Liam is barring his chest muscles.)

I’m happy to report that they all survived the ordeal, and went on to enjoy the evening unscathed.

I daresay they even had a good time.

This tiny fellow you’ve seen before …. and I think he’s figured out what this big black beast of a camera is intended for….

…but some decided to exercise a bit more caution.

Jade made her best effort to teach this soon-to-be-one cousin in the ways of English …

His next lesson is this week :)

And so it was, the party continued …

Liam ingested a little too much sugar,

Morgan took his present opening responsibilities very seriously (always read the card first…)

….and some of us got brand spankin’ new pajamas.

(Which we were pretty excited about :)

It was a good night.  Followed by another good (and unsurprisingly early) Christmas Morning!

Needless to say, it was a morning of Feliz Navidad…

…and HOT WHEELS. Rock.On.

Wasn’t it thoughtful of Santa to bring a present that all the boys in the house could enjoy? :)

With the exception of the occasional meltdown, of course.

Thirty seconds later, the smiles were back on.

So it was, after having laughed, played, and eaten to our hearts’ content, it was time to get ready to travel “over the river and through the woods” to Grandma and Grandpa’s house ….

We were, after all, in charge of bringing the evening’s entertainment ;)
